As a registered Public Benefit Organisation, Community Chest Durban is obligated to issue donation receipts in accordance with legal requirements, to avoid SARS rejecting the receipt submitted by the donor with tax returns. We endeavour to provide all donors with the correct documentation to ensure ease of claiming tax deductions from SARS.
To issue SARS compliant donation certificates with a unique receipt number, we require the following information:
- Donor nature (natural person, company, trust, etc.)
- Full name of an individual (including first, second and surnames) OR trading/registered name of a company/Trust
- Identification number of an individual OR registration number of a company/Trust
- Tax reference number of the donor (a 10 digit number that begins with 0, 1, 2, 3 or 9)
- E-mail address of the donor
- Contact number of the donor
- Full physical address of the donor
With tax year end fast approaching, we urge all existing donors to contact us on info@communitychest.co.za to provide the requested information.
